All pieces of music are written in the appropriate Key for the Chords used within the music.

In this course we will concentrate on the Major Keys and lightly touch on Minor Keys later.

As stated before, the sequence and scale of  a Major Key is:-

So the Key of A is: A B C# C E F# G# A     Therefore the Key Signature for A would consist of three Notes that are sharpened with the # symbol.

So the Key signature used to denote the Key of A would be a # symbol (sharp) in the position on the clef of the sharpened note i.e C F G
